The Small Animal Internal Medicine team is made up of specialists certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, residents, rotating interns, Registered Veterinary Technicians, and veterinary students in training. We are prepared to help with a wide array of medical problems, including infectious, inflammatory, and immune-mediated diseases, endocrinopathies, respiratory and gastrointestinal conditions, problems with the kidneys, the liver, the pancreas, and patients with non-specific signs that just don’t feel well.

We perform a number of diagnostic procedures, with access to all of the hospital’s diagnostic tools and other specialties to help us with complicated cases. In particularly serious cases we can utilize the space and expertise of our critical care unit, and if needed we can have our general surgery specialists intervene.

Unless a pet’s clinical signs are clearly best served by another specialty, our team deals with a wide range of presenting concerns, including diarrhea and vomiting; coughing or nasal discharge; difficult, painful, frequent, or uncontrolled urination; changes in weight, activity, appetite, or attitude; fever; lethargy; and many others.
