Jessica RuttenUrgent Care Veterinarian Veterinary Teaching Hospital
Jessica is originally from Orange County, California but has lived in Colorado for the past decade. She began working at CSU in July 2022 as an emergency veterinarian and has been working in vet med since she was a teenager. Before veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary technician at a number of general practice small animal clinics. She studied ecology in college, prior to vet school, and has a deep love for exotic companion animals like amphibians and reptiles and she is a self-proclaimed "bird nerd." She currently lives with her partner in Fort Collins, with their two dogs, leopard gecko, two frogs, and her parrot, Frank. When she is not working with her urgent care patients, she enjoys exploring the outdoors by hiking, backpacking, and paddle boarding, and loves watching bad reality TV shows at home with her partner.
