Dr. Ashley Villatoro grew up in the MD/VA/DC tristate region. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. She then attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship and surgical internship at Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She then completed a surgical residency with Veterinary Surgical Centers in Northern Virginia. Dr. Villatoro has particular interests in minimally invasive surgery, interventional radiology, oncologic surgery, wound management, and reconstruction. Dr. Villatoro is passionate about adapting to new techniques, instrumentation, medications, and technologies for the best possible patient outcome. Premier patient care, client communication, and procedure transparency are of paramount importance to her. Dr. Villatoro is Fear Free Certified and is an advocate of patient well-being by minimizing fear, anxiety, and stress during visits to the hospital. In her free time, Dr. Villatoro enjoys relaxing with her three pets of her own including her island dog Ting, Maltese rescue Vino, and Ragdoll kitty Coqui.
