Laura Hogan, Ph.D., is a counselor with the Argus Institute, providing emotional support for both pet families and veterinary providers. She has been a member of the CSU and Fort Collins communities since 2005, when she moved here from Texas to complete her bachelor’s degree in mathematics. She spent 10 years teaching math at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins and returned to CSU to work toward her Ph.D. in counseling psychology in 2019.
During her doctoral training, Laura primarily worked in university counseling centers as a therapist for college students and specialized in supporting clients with trauma, eating disorders, and other high-risk behaviors. She has also continued to work as an adjunct professor with the psychology department at CSU, teaching undergraduate clinical and counseling psychology courses.
Laura and her husband have a border collie, Chaco, who keeps them very busy! In addition to her work as a counselor and teacher, Laura loves adventuring with her husband and pup, being outdoors, reading, doing yoga, and seeing live music.
