About Rene

Rene has been involved with veterinary medicine for over 20 years. She received her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Emergency/Critical Care in 1998 and has remained active within the Academy ever since serving as the Chair of both Exam Committee and Appeals Committee, as well as involvement with the Board of Regents as a Member at Large and the position of President. She has been included in “Who’s Who of American Women”, “Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional Women in Nursing and Healthcare”, and “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare”. She has been featured as the Cover Technician in the Veterinary Technician Journal. She was a recipient of the Jack L Mara Memorial Lecture Award in 2009 which is presented annually to a person eminent in the field of technician accomplishment. It honors a technician who has the respect of the veterinary and technician communities, strong scientific and academic credentials, and a career that demonstrates professional growth and leadership.
