About Sophie

Sophie Kiehl is an Undergraduate Research Fellow (URF) majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Microbiology and Infectious Disease. She is interested in novel modes of vaccine development, such as an oral vaccine for feline enteric coronavirus (FECV), and in understanding the role of the microbiome in the immune response. She hopes to incorporate her interdisciplinary minors in bioinformatics and mathematical biology to her experience as an undergraduate research student. In her free time, Sophie plays volleyball, reads too much fantasy, and watches films.
