About Michelle

Michelle Savran is a DVM/PhD student mentored by Drs. Brian Foy and Greg Ebel. She is currently assessing the safety and efficacy of ivermectin-treated birdfeed as a means of West Nile Virus transmission control. Her previous research experiences include characterizing the host-pathogen interactions of trypanosome lytic factor, barcoding pancreatic cancer cells and observing clonal dynamics, and investigating the effects of bacterial natural products on mucosal immunity in a mouse model of inflammatory bowel disease. Beyond her interests in translative research and zoonoses, Michelle also enjoys live music, movies, and spoiling her pet cockatiel, Popcorn.
