About Kieran

Kieran Broder is a research associate currently specializing in the purification of native proteins from MtB through liquid chromatography (LC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), as well as in developing new methods of protein purification. His past research at St. Mary’s College of Maryland ranged from analyzing diurnal cycles in species composition and biomass of brackish organisms in the Patuxent River, to investigating the trophic relationship between two species of blooming dinoflagellate plankton, K. veneficum and S. major, to better understand and model harmful algal blooms (HABs). Before moving to CSU in 2021, Kieran was a research associate with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD where he assisted with vaccine production and animal modeling for the development of a novel vaccine against Chlamydia trachomatis. In his free time, he enjoys learning new cooking techniques, rock climbing, camping, backpacking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and playing the bass guitar.
