About Kalani

Kalani Williams is a Ph.D. student in Dr. Rebekah Kading’s lab. With interests in wildlife pathogens, Kalani started research as an undergrad in development of molecular diagnostic assays for marine mammal parasites. For her master’s degree, seeking out a new perspective, she shifted to studying the use of ectoparasites in conservation as samplers of vertebrate blood for biodiversity surveys. Now at CSU, Kalani is thrilled to begin research on viral transmission dynamics of wild bat populations with Dr. Kading and the rest of her team.
