About Briana

Bri Marsico is a Research Associate in Dr. Karen Dobos' lab. She is a glycolipid specialist as part of the NIH BEI Resources Repository with expertise in purification of Mtb materials. This includes research and development of new materials and methods, such as purification of methylglucose-lipopolysaccharides (mGLPs). These molecules are potent T-cell stimulators with potential towards vaccine development. Additionally, she works with purification of Mtb infected host exosomes. This work is part of an ongoing research project examining extracellular vesicles as potential biomarkers for persons with active or latent tuberculosis infection. Bri is also interested in STEM outreach with local K-12 schools in the Fort Collins area to encourage students to pursue careers in science.
