About Sam

Sam Hilty (she/her) is a current graduate student pursuing a Master's in Public Health and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the Colorado School of Public Health and Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She became interested in One Health and disease ecology after working as a veterinary technician at an animal shelter and studying Verreaux's sifaka and savanna chimpanzee ecology and conservation during her undergraduate research. In the Sue VandeWoude research group, she looks forward to exploring FelV infection in domestic cats and Florida Panthers. In her free time, Sam spends most of her time rock climbing, painting, and spending time with her dogs, Red and Cabbage.
