About Ellen
Ellen was born and raised in New Mexico. She attended Clark Honors College at University of Oregon (B.S. Geological Sciences); University of Oregon (M.S. Geological Sciences); Oregon State University (Ph.D. Science Education). Ellen enjoys working with educators to identify and implement meaningful learning experiences for students, particularly those in the science, technology, mathematics, and engineering (STEM) disciplines. She is passionate about cultivating welcoming and rewarding learning experiences that build off students’ funds of knowledge and speak to students’ learning interests and professional goals. She considers it a great gift to collaborate with the excellent faculty, staff, and administrators at CU-SOM Fort Collins around science education initiatives and research! Ellen likes to kayak, hike, and road bike across the mountain west with her partner, Grant, and their two tuxedo cats, Philip and Oswald.
