About Coby

Dr. McDonald is an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow whose research focuses on the intersection of disease ecology, conservation genomics, and veterinary medicine in multiple taxa. Their PhD research investigated amphibian host immunogenomic responses and adaptation to chytrid fungi (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans). As a postdoc, Dr. McDonald is interested in understanding how inbreeding and subsequent genetic restoration has impacted disease susceptibility in the Florida panther.
