About Jassia

Jassia Pang is a master’s candidate in the Schountz lab at Colorado State University. Jassia’s interest is in bat immunology – specifically how they can remain clinically healthy despite being carriers of many infectious agents.

Having inherited her father’s love of animals, particularly strays, it is no wonder that Jassia found herself pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. After completing veterinary school in Australia and a laboratory animal residency at MIT, she is currently a clinical veterinarian with CSU’s Laboratory Animal Resources while pursuing her graduate degree part-time. Her free moments are spent chasing a toddler and a hyperactive GSP/Boxer mix, as well as staring at random trees during hikes while her arborist husband does research “plant-y” things on them.
