About Maria

Maria Gore, M.S.W., is the director of operations and program services for the Argus Institute. Maria obtained her master’s degree in social work at the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining the Argus team, she worked as a hospice social worker and was previously a veterinary technician and manager at the University of Florida’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital in the Large Animal Hospital. Maria is passionate about the human-animal bond and believes strongly that animals make us better humans. Maria is dedicated to maintaining the Argus Institute’s high standard of support that aids pet owners, veterinary professionals, students, our local community, and the international veterinary community. Maria moved to Colorado from Florida, where her Quarter Horse mare, Silky still resides on her family’s farm. Maria lives in Fort Collins with her wife, Lori, and their mixed breed sweetheart of a dog, Milo, in addition to Grace, an exuberant English Cream Retriever, and to round out the family a geriatric cat named Emmylou.
