About Laura

Laura Ashton serves as the laboratory manger for Dr. MacNeill. She has over 20 years of experience in environmental, food, and clinical in both diagnostic and research laboratories and has diverse range of knowledge and skills. Her master's thesis was titled "Control of Escherichia coli O157:H7 on Fresh Beef and Acid Tolerance Response of Listeria monocytogenes on Ready-to-eat Meat Products Treated with Antimicrobials". Current research is focused on the design and organization of oncolytic viral vaccine studies, viral infection models, and evaluation of apoptotic and immune responses of tumors in vitro and in vivo to Myxoma. She also works with the Veterinary Diagnositic Laboratory (VDL) in both the clinical pathology and histology sections.
