[email protected]About Katie
Katie was born in Gaithersburg, MD. Raised on a grain farm, she has raised pigs since she was 11 years old. She went to Cornell University for her undergraduate studies, where she decided to become a veterinarian. She found a passion for research there and decided that she wanted to pursue a PhD after obtaining her DVM. In veterinary school, she discovered that she really loved anatomic pathology and learned that she could combine all of her passions: veterinary science, research and pathology. She was selected for the NIH Comparative Biomedical Scientist Training Program (CBSTP) and is excited to move to Fort Collins for her anatomic pathology training and then transition to the NIH for her dissertation work. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her cat Beans, playing video games, reading, playing Dungeons and Dragons and hiking.
