About Kyra
Kyra is originally from a very small town in Oregon. She is currently a third-year equine sciences, pre-vet student at CSU. Kyra moved to Colorado in 2021 to pursue a career in equine medicine. Growing up in a town where the nearest equine vet was over two hours away, and the only other three vets in her half of the state never took new clients, she realized the need for change. This inspired her to become a DVM to help rural areas with limited access to veterinary care.
Kyra owns two horses and is training an additional horse to sell at the Legends of Ranching futurity auction in April. She also rides for CSU's equestrian team and holds an officer position. Kyra has developed a deep passion for the physiology of animal athletes and hopes to advance into the field of sports medicine.
