Emily Layer is a first year PhD student. She has rotated in the Abdo Lab and is currently rotating in the Henao Tamayo Lab. Her research interests include hierarchical modeling of the microbiome, microbial metagenomics and data analysis, and computational modeling of the host immune response to Mycobacterial infection. Her hobbies include spending time with her three young children and her spouse, playing with her two dogs, one cat, and three fish, running, singing, and reading fiction.
