Canine physical orthopedic performances (CPOP)

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common clinical presentation of joint disease in dogs. Typical activities such as running, standing, or jumping are frequently impaired in dogs with OA. In veterinary medicine, outcome measures like objective gait analysis (OGA) are established and used to determine ground reaction forces (GRFs) that can help us localize and visualize OA in our patients. However, this value alone only represents a short interval of time. This study aims to identify physical performance measures, such as stair climbing, that can be used as further outcome measures to help better characterize arthritic canine patients and the efficacy of their treatment options.
