History

The James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital bears the name of the former dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences for his dedication and long service to the university and the veterinary profession. Built in 1979, the facility has allowed CSU to become a central location in national and international veterinary science. We educate the finest veterinarians in the world through our mission to provide exceptional veterinary care and service to the community every day.

About the Johnson Family Equine Hospital

Opened in 2021, the Johnson Family Equine Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to horses and named after longstanding equine clients Helen and Arthur Johnson.

"Our family foundation partnered with CSU long ago because of the value we found in their leadership in veterinary research, treatment, and education. It is an honor for us to take part in the construction of an equine hospital that will deliver cutting-edge equine research and treatment on a national level," Lynn Campion, granddaughter of Helen and Arthur Johnson, said at the groundbreaking ceremony.

The College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences extends its deepest gratitude to the Johnson family for the lead gift that made the equine hospital a reality.
