About Emily

Dr. Rout is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology and co-director of the Clinical Hematopathology Laboratory. Dr. Rout received her DVM degree from Colorado State University in 2013 and subsequently completed the combined Clinical Pathology Residency and Ph.D. program at Colorado State University. The Clinical Hematopathology Laboratory studies canine and feline hematopoietic tumors and provides diagnostic services for detection and classification of lymphoma and leukemia in small animal patients. Dr. Rout’s current research is focused on small cell B cell neoplasms in dogs and intestinal T cell lymphoma in cats.
