Steven Lakin

Steven is a veterinarian and a PhD student in the Abdo Lab at Colorado State University. His PhD work applies statistics, bioinformatics, and machine learning methods to data in public health, epidemiology, and infectious disease. His long-term goal is to apply cutting-edge mathematical and technological methods to real-world problems for the betterment of national and global public health. Following graduation, Steven will be working on rapid diagnostics for high-impact viral diseases at the National Bio- and Agro-Defense Facility for the United States Department of Agriculture.
