Purva Sanghvi

She is co-mentored by Dr. Karen Dobos and Dr. Brendan Podell. Her doctoral research focuses on investigating the relationship between vitamin A deficiency and tuberculosis (TB). Specifically, she employs the guinea pig model of vitamin A deficiency to delve into the molecular mechanisms underlying persistent vitamin A deficiency in active TB patients. To achieve this, she will employ a range of skills and techniques, including mass spectrometry and data analytics, to unravel the complexities of this leading co-morbidity associated with TB. Beyond her academic pursuits, Purva enjoys hiking, biking, reading, and staying connected with her loved ones back home.
