I am a Fort Collins native and third generation CSU student. My degree from CSU made it possible for me to live all over North America and work in all kinds of labs. Big companies, little companies, government labs and my favorite-academic research labs. I rode cable cars through the fog of San Francisco by night and studied how chemicals pass through the skin by day. I refolded buckets full of recombinant proteins in the shadow of the Gateway Arch. Then I travelled north to beautiful British Columbia and cloned human voltage-gated calcium channels in the shade of old growth forests. After returning back home to Colorado, I studied a cancer-causing virus in lumpy fish and helped develop field tests to monitor the health of wild bighorn sheep and track Zika virus in mosquitos. Now I have come full circle and am excited to be the Prep Room Manager-doing my part to help undergraduates embark on their scientific adventures.
