About Ashley

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and will forever be a proud yinzer. Throughout my undergraduate education, I adamantly believed that I would never pursue a career in either veterinary medicine or pathology. Fast forward to a few years after graduation, and I was sitting in my first-year Intro to Histology course at The Ohio State University – College of Veterinary Medicine, fascinated by anatomic pathology. I then spent the remainder of vet school learning as much as I could about reading histopathology slides, participating in research projects, and taking clinical rotations that exposed me to the different career roles of a veterinary anatomic pathologist. I appreciate the comprehensive scope of this field of medicine, and I’m excited to pursue research that will allow me to further study specific disease mechanisms. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking with my husband, going to concerts, and spending time with our cat, Sophie.
