Chrystal Carson

Veterinary Technician - Dentistry Veterinary Teaching Hospital

About Chrystal

Chrystal was born and raised in Colorado and knew early on that she wanted to spend her life working with animals. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2010. Her first veterinary technician job was at a general practice in Boulder, where she had the opportunity to work regularly with a mobile board-certified veterinary dentist. This was were her love for dentistry began. She then moved to San Francisco and worked with a veterinary dentistry specialist for a few years and developed her skillset and education further. Homesick for Colorado, she moved back and started working at the CSU VTH. She achieved her dream job in CSU's dentistry and oral surgery service in 2022. Her favorite parts of her job are being part of a team that improves the quality of life for patients, and teaching the next generation of veterinary students about companion animal oral health. Outside of work, she likes to hike, work in her garden, go camping, and enjoy cooking and baking with her husband, son, and daughter. At home, she has a couple of fish, a guinea pig, and a sweet old rescued Doberman mix.
