Christy Conrad

Christy has been a human resources professional and practitioner for over 20 years with experience in strategy, organization development, policy development, employment law, employee relations, talent acquisition, engagement, culture/climate, retention, and professional development. Since 2012, Christy has overseen and directed the human resources functions for the Colorado State University (CSU) College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVMBS) with over 2200 employees in very diverse roles – faculty, staff, students, etc. Christy is a certified instructor of Crucial Conversations training and facilitated numerous professional development opportunities within the college and across CSU. She has chaired the Community of Choice –Personal/Professional Development college strategic committee for the past 10 years. This committee has focused on multiple areas, all with the purpose of making CVMBS the organization and academic community that our current people, and prospective faculty/staff, would see as the best place to work, learn and innovate.

She has been involved with numerous culture/climate, wellness, and strategic committees, initiatives and projects. Previous to CSU-CVMBS, Christy worked in a private non-profit behavioral healthcare organization for almost 15 years. She provided direct care and services to adolescents and families, served as a manager/director to those providing services, and then after completing her master degree in public administration, transitioned to overseeing the human resources and organization development functions for the organization. Simultaneously she worked as a graduate assistant and professional staff in the political sciences department at the University of Wyoming.
