About Brittany

Brittany is a third-year veterinary student originally from Gilbert, Arizona. She received a B.S in Applied Biological Science in June 2021 from Arizona State University. Now continuing to pursue her interest in research, she is a student researcher in the laboratory of Dr. Sue VandeWoude. Brittany is currently being mentored by Dr. Coby McDonald on the characterization of retroelements in the Jamaican fruit bat. After completing her DVM degree, she has plans on pursuing a clinical pathology residency to combine her love of microscopy, pathophysiology, and research. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, spending time with her two cats Smokey and Piggy, as well as caring for her houseplants.
