Erin Allen

Clinical Support Services Associate Director Veterinary Teaching Hospital

About Erin

Erin Allen, MSSW, is the clinic support service associate director of the Argus Institute. After many years of working in direct support of pets' families and veterinary medical team members, Erin now oversees the clinic support services that the program provides. Erin started out on the medical side of veterinary medicine, working as a veterinary assistant for a small practice near her hometown of Knoxville, TN. After finishing her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Tennessee, her professional focus moved to the human side of the human-animal bond and in 2007, she became a veterinary social worker at the Argus Institute. After several years, Erin's family expanded with the birth of her son. She stepped away from her role at the Argus Institute for a few years to focus on motherhood and family. The time away emphasized how much she loved her profession and when the time was right, she rejoined the team. When she's not at work, Erin's biggest joys are spending time with her family and their giant, goofy Bernedoodle and enjoying some quality time with her horse.
