About Seleta

Seleta grew up in Southwest Missouri, but relocated to Colorado in 2014 along with her husband and son. Currently, they live on a small farm northwest of Fort Collins where they enjoy the slower pace of country living. They have three German shepherds, five cats, six snakes, two rats, and 49 chickens. Over the past few years, their chickens have been the main focus. Up until very recently, they had been breeding and showing single comb Nankins and large fowl Sultans, both listed as endangered species on the livestock conservancy. She also enjoys crafting, quilting, and spending time outdoors as a beginning cyclist and runner.

She began her career as a certified veterinary technician in 2003 and stayed in the veterinary field for roughly 10 years before returning to school to pursue a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science. After graduating in 2011, she worked in a human medical laboratory until beginning her current position at CSU in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in the clinical pathology department in 2020. This position has been the perfect blend of both veterinary medicine and laboratory medicine for her!
