About Avery

Avery Lessard is a Ph.D. student in the toxicology program, supported by the Initiative for Maximizing Student Development program. She earned her Bachelor of Science in microbiology from Colorado State University in 2023. Following graduation, she participated in the Postbaccalaureate Research Program, building on over four years of research experience. Avery's research background includes studies on chronic wasting disease, Parkinson's disease, and canine cognitive disorder. She also has clinical experience from her work on SARS-CoV-2 saliva testing at Colorado State University. Beyond the lab, Avery enjoys skiing, hiking, and exploring Colorado with her dog.
