About Lauren

Lauren is a research associate and has been working in different aspects of neuroscience for around five years. Lauren earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2018. It was there that she found her passion for biomedical research while working in Dr. Eugenia Olesnicky’s developmental neurobiology lab. Since then, she has worked with Dr. Susan Tsunoda at CSU, where she learned a great deal about Homeostatic Synaptic Plasticity research in Drosophila. As a lab manager in Dr. Rick McCosh’s lab, Lauren is currently interested in investigating the neural regulation of reproduction in mice and sheep, as well as providing support and mentorship to students in the lab. Before her career in science, Lauren was a professional reining horse trainer, and she still trains her personal horses in her free time. Lauren is a wife, a mother of two, from Colorado, and she loves to spend time hiking and exploring our beautiful state with her family.
