Maria GoreSocial Worker Veterinary Teaching Hospital
Maria Gore, MSW, is a social worker with the Argus Institute. Maria obtained her master’s in social work at the University of Central Florida. She worked at a small animal hospital and for the University of Florida Veterinary Teaching Hospital in their large animal clinic. Maria has experience in the hospice field, including work in anticipatory and preparatory grief, as well as bereavement counseling. Maria brings a distinctive set of communication skills in working with a multi-disciplinary team in a veterinary environment. As part of the Argus team, Maria provides in-house support to pet owners and staff, as well as community clients referred to the Argus Institute’s support services. This includes quality-of-life conversations, assisting with resources, education and grief support. Maria moved to Colorado from Florida, where her Quarter Horse mare, Silky, lives on her family’s farm. Maria lives in Fort Collins with her beloved rescue dog Enzo and her two cats, Harry and Emmylou.
