Outside of the classroom, I mentor undergraduate and graduate students in my research program and also mentor undergraduate students involved with the Honor’s program and the Presidential Leadership Program at CSU. My research efforts focus on the sense of taste and mechanosensation of the tongue. This research includes investigating the embryonic origins of taste receptor cells and the transduction mechanisms used by individual taste cells. I strongly believe in giving back to the Fort Collins community and because of this, I do a substantial amount of outreach in the form of neuroscience presentations to local students ranging from preschool through high school.

About Leslie

I teach a variety of topics in neuroscience to undergraduate and graduate students. Outside of the classroom, I mentor undergraduate and graduate students in my research program and also mentor undergraduate students involved with the Honor’s program and the Presidential Leadership Program at CSU. My research efforts focus on the sense of taste and mechanosensation of the tongue. This research includes investigating the embryonic origins of taste receptor cells and the transduction mechanisms used by individual taste cells. I strongly believe in giving back to the Fort Collins community and because of this, I do a substantial amount of outreach in the form of neuroscience presentations to local students ranging from preschool through high school.
