About JoAnne

JoAnne grew up on a dairy farm in northeast Ohio. She was active in band, choir and 4-H throughout high school. JoAnne continued her education and received her bachelor’s degree in dairy science at Ohio State University. In 1989 her first job took her to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to work for EmTran Inc., a bovine embryo transfer facility specializing in dairy cattle where she assisted as a technician with embryo flushes, transfers, embryo freezing, embryo biopsying, and IVF. In 2001 she then moved to Texas to work for Ovagenix, another bovine embryo transfer company specializing in beef cattle. One year later she started with Genetics Savings and Clone, in College Station, TX, working with farm animal cloning techniques. In 2003 she then took a leap and moved to Colorado and took a position as a research assistant at Colorado State University’s Equine Reproduction Laboratory, where she works in the assisted reproductive technologies program where she oversees the ICSI lab from oocyte handling, sperm injection, and embryo culture. JoAnne is directly involved in the Equine Reproduction Laboratory's clinical program and also dedicates some of her time to research and teaching students and residents. JoAnne enjoys her free time spent with her dog and watching college football.
