About Randall

Dr. Basaraba is an emeritus professor of Mycobacterial Pathology. His laboratory at CSU focused on the pathogenesis of tuberculosis in several animal models. Dr. Basaraba’s work, funded by NIH and the American Diabetes Foundation, examined the Mycobacterial sequestration in granulomas and the synergistic relationship of tuberculosis and diabetes worldwide. Working in collaboration as a member of the CSU Mycobacteria Research Laboratories, Basaraba’s group focused on understanding the unique state of mycobacteria in granulomas and biofilms important in development of anti-microbial resistance.
