Students select one of three curriculum options for their program of study (human anatomy, animal anatomy, or neurobiology). All options require the completion of 32 credits and passing comprehensive exams at the end of the year. While the required courses take up approximately half of the 32 credits, students can take any elective offered within the university as long as it is 300 level or above.
Tracks of study
Human Anatomy
Prepare for a career in biomedical sciences with a unique curriculum that provides a similar rigor and pace typical of the first year of medical, dental, and physician assistant school. Gain hands-on dissection experience with a 4:1 student-to-cadaver ratio. Core courses feature hands-on human cadaver dissection, cross-sectional and virtual anatomy, and case-based learning.

- BMS 450 Pharmacology
- BMS 505 Neuronal Circuits, Systems, and Behavior
Animal Anatomy
Engage with a unique curriculum that provides a similar rigor and pace typical of the first year of veterinary school. Learn from faculty in CSU’s renowned D.V.M. Program, who teach core courses that feature extensive laboratory instruction, including human neuroanatomy and animal cadaver dissection with a 2:1 student-to cadaver ratio. Core courses feature hands-on human cadaver dissection, cross-sectional and virtual anatomy, and case-based learning.

Neurobiology
Become a part of one of the only post baccalaureate programs in the country featuring a neurobiology concentration. Build your knowledge base with developmental and circuit-based neurobiology concepts derived from primary research literature. Enhance understanding of course material via access to human specimens, and complete a neuroanatomy course designed to apply knowledge in clinically relevant ways.
