Dr. Hayley Sullivan grew up in the South Bay of Los Angeles, California where she developed a love of horses at a young age through the United States Pony Clubs. Dr. Sullivan attended the University of California, Davis where she studied Animal Science, and was a member of the Three-Day Eventing team. After graduating from UC Davis, she moved back to Southern California to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. After graduation she moved to Ocala, FL to complete an internship at Peterson & Smith Equine Hospital. In Ocala she most enjoyed working on thoroughbred racehorses and the orthopedic caseload. In 2019 she joined the Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation team at Colorado State University, as an American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation resident. She is certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture through the Curacore Academy. Dr. Sullivan is very grateful to be learning specialized skills for taking care of the equine athlete, from the amazing team at CSU. Her research focuses on the effect of lameness on the axial skeleton, and the effects of training on the suspensory ligament of performance horses. In her free time, Dr. Sullivan enjoys three-day eventing, skiing, and live music.
