About Maddy

Madison Tipton recently graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in biomedical sciences. She found her interest in the inner workings of the human body, along with the importance of nutrition, as a classical ballet dancer in high school. While learning more about the normal processes of the human body, she became more interested in how the human body is affected by external factors, like the environments we live in and the types of bacteria we have present in our bodies. While in Dr. Ryan’s lab, Madison has become more interested in how the food we eat can have effects on the entire human body, especially when challenged with inflammation. She looks forward to learning more about bacteria’s impacts on cancer, particularly colon cancer. When not in school she like’s being outdoors in any way, particularly hiking, biking, and snowboarding.
