D.V.M. Milestone Reunion FAQ

What is the D.V.M. milestone reunion?

The D.V.M. milestone reunion is an annual event where the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences invites D.V.M. alumni back to spend a day with us, tour the newest veterinary facilities, hear from current leadership and faculty members, and reconnect with classmates.

Who is invited?

Every class celebrating a five-year “milestone” anniversary will be invited. This includes five years, 10 years, 15 years, etc. It is not uncommon to have D.V.M. alumni celebrating their 60th+ anniversaries to join us (and still practicing!).

When is the event?

We hold this event in October each year, on a weekend separate from Homecoming and Family Weekend.

Why can't you tell us the date of the event sooner?

We aim to finalize and communicate the date of the milestone reunion as soon as possible after the date for Homecoming and Family Weekend is announced by the University (in March each year).

Where is the event held?

The D.V.M. reunion will be held at the Translational Medicine Institute, a building located just north of the James L. Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Is there a cost to attend?

No, this event is fully sponsored by CSU.

Is there a hotel block?

Because our alumni have different preferences for where they stay, and many prefer to make their own hotel selections, we do not block hotel rooms for this event.

Can I bring a guest? What about children?

You are welcome to bring one adult guest with you. This is an adults-only event.

Do you plan individual events for each class?

No. Each class is responsible for planning their own separate events. For example, classes often schedule a dinner or fun event on the Friday or Saturday night of the reunion weekend.

We can provide an up-to-date class roster with contact information to the person spearheading any class-specific event(s). If that’s you, please reach out to our team via email at [email protected] or phone at (970) 491-3507 and we will send your class’s roster.

The only specific milestone event we plan annually is for the class celebrating their 50th anniversary. We will partner with the head of this class to offer a cocktail reception on the Friday night before the reunion. This event is sponsored by CSU and is only for D.V.M. alumni (and plus ones) celebrating their 50th reunion.

Why didn't my classmate receive an invitation?

We are limited to the most recent contact information the University’s alumni database contains for each of our alumni. If someone moved without updating their mailing address, stopped using an email address, and/or changed phone numbers, we have no way of updating our records unless that person shares their updated contact information with us.

Additionally, CSU must legally abide by email opt out rules. If you opted out of email communications from CSU (by clicking the unsubscribe button at the bottom of an email), we are legally no longer allowed to send you email communications. This is the most common reason an alum does not receive an invitation to a reunion. If you are unsure whether you have an opt out on file, contact our team to look this up. With your permission we can remove the opt out.

Many classes have social media pages. This is a great way to get the word out about a reunion. Please feel free to share a reunion invitation with other members of your class. The links are not specific to you and can be forwarded.

Who can I contact to update my contact information or if I have additional questions?
