Dr. Brian Johnstone is a professor of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation in the School of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. In 2016, Dr. Johnstone was honored to be inducted in the inaugural class of the International Combined Orthopaedic Research Societies (ICORS) Fellow of International Orthopaedic Research (FIOR). In 2019, he was elected Chair of the ICORS International College of Fellows. Dr. Johnstone received the Marshall R. Urist MD Award at the 2017 Orthopaedic Research Society annual meeting. In 2018, he was inducted into the inaugural class of ORS Fellows with the Orthopaedic Research Society.

Carla R. Scanzello, MD PhD is Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. She is also the Associate Director of the VA CReATE Motion Center and Co-Director of the Translational Musculoskeletal Research Center at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. She serves as an Associate Editor for Arthritis and Rheumatology and on the editorial board of Osteoarthritis & Cartilage. Her research aims to understand how the innate immune system contributes to Osteoarthritis (OA) pathology and progression, with the ultimate goal of developing novel therapeutic strategies for this debilitating disease.
