About Jenny

I am currently a PhD/postdoctoral student in Dr. Angela Bosco-Lauth’s research lab undergoing training in order to pursue my passion of investigating zoonotic and wildlife infectious disease emphasizing in vivo modeling, infection kinetics, one health concepts, and host immunology. Prior to CSU, I completed my DVM at University of Tennessee in May 2020, a summer research fellowship at MIT,  and a comparative medicine externship at Columbia University. I worked in a wide array of research labs covering varied topics such as conservational genetics (behavioral genetics, paternity, phylogenetics, immunogenetics, etc.), nanoparticle induced cellular autophagy, bacterial phylogenetics, satellite telemetry tracking of wild animals (black bears, feral swine, coyotes, etc.), pathogen surveillance in mouse colonies, novel pathogen characterization in a diagnostic setting, retrospective studies within veterinary pathology, disease outbreak response, human hepatocellular carcinoma, and most recently, African bat pathology and phylogenetics. My end goal is to become a competent veterinary scientist capable of conducting primary research focused on in vivo infection models that help elucidate microbial interactions at the human (or livestock) - wildlife interfaces.
