COVID-19 Infectious Disease Expertise in MIP

The faculty, staff, and students of the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Pathology (MIP) at Colorado State University are actively working to address the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic for our community, the country, and the world.

We are conducting a multitude of projects to preserve the health of people, animals and the planet during this current pandemic by applying on our infectious disease expertise. Our researchers have prior experience with a variety of infectious diseases from both animal and public health perspectives, including SARS, MERS, and other coronaviruses.

Existing collaborations, as well as new partnerships, are allowing our experts to contribute to a range of innovative COVID-19 solutions for the greater good. The department is also participating in measures to protect our essential campus operations and ourselves, so we can continue to responsibly pursue these important COVID-19  projects in a safe work environment.
