About Andrea

Andrea is a first year PhD student with the MIP department. She graduated with her B.S in Biology from Regis University in 2020. As an undergraduate, she studied how how Dengue virus utilizes host-cell machinery during replication and virion assembly. Following graduation, Andrea spent three years as a lab manager and professional research assistant in Dr. Laurent Gapin’s lab at the University of Colorado Anschutz. During this time, she studied the development and function of unconventional T cells, specifically iNKT cells and MAIT cells, in the context of both humans and mice.

As a graduate student, Andrea is interested in studying the interaction between pathogens and the host immune system. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and doing puzzles.
