About Elaine
Dr. Carnevale is Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and a member of the Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology Laboratory and the Equine Reproduction Laboratory. Dr. Carnevale’s research is focused in assisted reproductive technologies, including age-associated alterations in gene expression in follicular and oocyte maturation and the role of microRNAs and key regulatory genes. Research in equine assisted reproductive technologies has resulted in currently used procedures such as oocyte transfer, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, oocyte and embryo vitrification, and oocyte harvesting and maturation used in many species, including humans. In addition to her research program, Dr. Carnevale heads a clinical program in advanced equine assisted reproduction techniques, allowing for the clinical application of new developments and training in advanced procedures.
