BMS Graduate Student Association

The BMS Graduate Student Association (GSA) serves as a hub for collaboration, support, and engagement among graduate students in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University. Our mission is to foster a strong, connected community while promoting professional growth, leadership, and academic excellence.

Our purpose

We are committed to enriching the graduate student experience by:

  • Advocating students’ interests to university leadership and administration.
  • Fostering a sense of community through social events, mentorship, and peer support.
  • Bridging communication between BMS graduate students and faculty/administration to support collaboration and shared goals.
  • Organizing and supporting key departmental events, including:
    • Ph.D. rotational program recruitment: Represent the student experience and engage with prospective students.
    • Departmental research retreat: Highlight student research and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
    • BMS seminar series: Facilitate student engagement with speakers and contribute to event planning.
    • Graduation celebrations: Help coordinate recognition events for all BMS graduate programs.
  • Creating opportunities for networking with fellow students, faculty, and alumni.

The BMS-GSA is led by elected student officers who represent both Ph.D. and master’s programs across CSU’s main campus and ARBL campus:
