Elizabeth Houston

Post Doctoral - Comparative Medicine Resident Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology

About Elizabeth

I grew up in Connecticut where I adored using my pretend vet kit on my dogs, cats, and variety of pocket pets. I attended the University of Connecticut to study pathobiology and molecular cellular biology. My interest in research began with a study on immunodiagnostics in poultry. I then started the journey west to complete my DVM at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During my time there, I finished a Master’s in Preventive Medicine focused on diagnostics and pathology of swine viruses. The next move west brought me to CSU to further explore my interests in the use of animal models for infectious disease and surgical research through the Comparative Medicine Residency Program. In my free time I enjoy doing anything and everything outdoors, horseback riding, painting, and spending time with all of my pets.
