About Deepshikha

Deepshikha Verma is a PhD from Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH, CSIR), India and has her degree in Cell biology and Immunology. Dr. Deepshikha Verma is currently working as Senior Research Scientist with Dr. Diane Ordway, and plans to look forward to apply her skills of cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology and Immunology to study immune response against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Non tuberculous mycobacterium. Prior to working at Colorado State University, she worked as a Post-Doctoral researcher for the University of Maryland at Avrum Gudelsky Veterinary Center. There she employed her knowledge of cell culture and animal models along with qRT-PCR to study the pathogenesis of Lyme disease and also vaccine targets in Lyme Borreliosis. With more than 10 years of experience in Mycobacterium biology, her long-term interest lies in understanding the mechanisms by which mycobacterium adapts within the host cells which are important for developing new and more effective vaccination strategies for therapy.
