About Russell

Dr A Russell Moore graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in animal science in 2000 and a doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2006 from Purdue University. He spent five years in a small animal private practice in western Washington. He completed a residency and master’s degree at University of Illinois in 2014. Following the residency and becoming a board-certified veterinary clinical pathologist, Dr Moore began an instructor position at Colorado State University that continued into a faculty position. Dr Moore is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology with interests in the proteomics of lymphoid neoplasia, quality assurance and other clinically relevant projects. Dr Moore’s interests have been largely geared around clinically relevant topics, including laboratory quality assurance and method development. Recent work has been focused in improving clinical the clinical utility of protein electrophoresis and immunofixation techniques to detect, characterize and monitor monoclonal gammopathies and other protein changes associated with lymphoid neoplasia and other diseases. Dr Moore has also been involved in many reference interval, validation and quality assurance projects, cytologic evaluation of hepatic copper and other collaborative works.
